The Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is now accepting applications for the Supervisor position.

Supervisor - Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission


Minimum Requirements by Wyoming Statute § 30-5-108

  • Qualified petroleum engineer or geologist

  • Not less than 10 years of experience in field of expertise

  • Appointed by the Commission

  • Serves at the pleasure of the Commission


Duties:

  • Ex Officio director of oil and gas conservation within State of Wyoming

  • Ex Officio secretary of the Commission

  • Leads the oil and gas agency supporting the Commission in preventing waste, protects correlative rights, and implements the Oil and Gas Conservation Act, Wyoming Statutes §§ 30-5-101, et seq.

  • Enforces statutes, rules,regulations and orders of the commission

  • Supervises all aspects of the staff of the Commission

  • Responsible for financial management and budgeting of the Commission and the agency

  • Represents the Commission on state and national boards and commissions, including, but not limited to, Wyoming Energy Authority, State Geological Survey Advisory Board, Consensus Revenue Estimating Group, Interstate OIl and Gas Compact Commission, Ground Water Protection Council

  • Other duties as assigned by the Commission

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical and practical knowledge of the oil and gas industry

  • Leadership and supervisory skills in managing an agency, including staff management, budgeting, and building management

  • Working knowledge of regulatory functions, i.e., rule-making, administrative hearings, public meeting requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, the oil and gas industry and other state and Federal agencies involved in regulating the oil and gas industry

Salary: Established by the Commission - commensurate with knowledge and experience
